Flavio Alejandro Bisciotti, aka FAB opened FABstudio GALLERY in 2012. The dream was to create a space for art, design, and eventually dining with art. He has done it all, while still creating his own art. He continues to support other artists.

On Thursday December 4th, FABstudio Gallery will present “Environmentalism-O,” featuring the paintings of Argentinian artist Javier De Aubeyzon.

Gallerist Flavio Bisciotti was born in Argentina, where he first met De Aubeyzon. Longtime friends, and gallery director Flavio Bisciotti are both architects and natives of Argentina.

Bisciotti currently resides in Venice, where he also paints out of his home studio. He recently participated in the Venice Art Block and once again will host an upcoming group exhibition featuring the local art organization.

De Aubeyzon said he was looking forward to his upcoming solo exhibition at FABstudio GALLERY. The show spotlights architecture, as well as environmental issues currently affecting our world. Two series will be featured “Urban Industrial Landscapes,” and “Natural Environment Landscapes.”

Bisciotti explains why he was attracted to the work…”One is his background as an architect. I admire the way he sees the architectural and how he reflects this in his paintings. I also appreciate his surrealistic vision. He is able to combine a hyperrealism painting style with depictions of unique environments.”

“My favorite piece is a painting called Pasaje Barolo,” continued Bisciotti. “This image reminds me of Buenos Aires. This is an iconic building of Argentina, the Barolo Building that encapsulates the style and history of the city. In this painting, he shows the advance of civilization and the overpopulation of the metropolis by juxtaposing this with an image of a freeway. This freeway is forever under-construction.”

De Aubeyzon explained that he first sketches the idea on paper, which eventually evolves into the final product. “I use a grid system to transpose the idea from initial sketch to canvas. I first work on the background details, and eventually finish perfecting the architectural elements.” Like most artists, De Aubeyzon has been inspired by his predecessors. “I really like European painters from the Industrial Revolution, as well as the Romanticist painters such as Meunier, Caspar David Friedrich and Walden.” He adds, “Others from Spanish Realism, such as Pedro del Toro and Antonion Lopez. American painters, including Hooper, Rettew Sheeler and Richard Estes.”

The art of De Aubeyzon has been included in exhibitions all over the world, such as Galería Praxis, International Art, Miami, The British Arts Centre in Argentina, Galería D&G Arte, the Palais de Glace Museum, and many others. He has also been featured in publications such as
Argentina SKATE Magazine.

On opening night, Ushuaia Argentine Steakhouse will provide passed hors d’oeuvres. There will also be a complementary wine tasting of Terrazas de los Andes Reserva, a winery from Mendoza, Argentina. A percentage of sales of the artwork will benefit Surfrider Foundation. This is a “leave-no-trace” environmentally concerned event and guests should bring their own wine glass to the opening.
